How does the Tarot Work?
I have come to trust in the Hand of God or synchronicity.
Everything happens for a reason. I have seen too many fantastic coincidences in
my life and others to believe otherwise. And especially with hindsight, I can
see how all the pieces in my life have fit together to lead me to where I am
today. The cards are no different.
Are you a psychic?
It all depends on what you mean by psychic. If you mean I
can read your mind or aura or talk to your guides or the dead, no, I am not. I
consider myself an intuitive who has been around as a meditation practitioner
and studying the Tarot and metaphysics for nearly 40 years.
Do you predict the future?
In the ultimate sense, there is no future. There is only
the Now. However, from a temporal standpoint, the future exists fluidly based
on past and present actions, habits, thoughts/beliefs, and vision. By looking
at these points, we (the questioner and I) can see the probabilities of
outcomes.
Are you ever wrong in your predictions?
I sure hope so. If I were not, then I would be God. Again,
I am working with probabilities.
Are the cards ever wrong?
No. I believe in synchronicity, as I noted above. Can my
interpretation be wrong? Yes. But even with that, I trust that my words are
what is needed for the reading, that the questioner will do whatever they need
to do with them. For example, the cards showed me that moving to Oregon years
ago was a positive thing. It was. But not after going through some unforeseen
circumstances that I would not have chosen to go through.
Do we have to be in person?
No. In reality, there is no separation between anyone. We
are all connected. There is only one mind, after all.
Can the readings and session be transformative?
Oh yes. However, it all depends on your desire to want that
transformation. Nothing is thrust upon you that you cannot handle. It can bring
up issues, so they are not always easy. The longer the session, the deeper we
can go.
What is your background for reading the Tarot?
My mother told me that I would play with these strange cards
when I was in middle school when I began my interest in the occult. In high
school, I left all that metaphysical stuff behind to be a typical teenager. After
my spiritual awakening, the Tarot returned to my life in my mid-twenties (the
80s) while hitchhiking across the States and Australia. Synchronistically I met
four readers, and under one of them, I studied extensively. Afterward, my
professional career began when I became the reader for the famous metaphysical
bookstore of Hollywood, The Bodhi Tree. For five years, I did thousands of
readings there. I have continued since then in a much-curtailed way due to my
other endeavors. I have done parties for opening nights, celebrities,
businesses, the Super Bowl, psychic fairs.
Do you give medical advice?
No. You need to consult your medical practitioners for
medical advice. The cards can show what is the foundation of your condition and
help mitigate any causes.
Can you predict my death?
If I could, I would not tell you. If the Death card appears,
it can show many things, especially the need to let something die in your life
or yourself. It is always a good reminder to prepare for death, practically and
spiritually.
Do you use reverse meanings?
Generally, no. All cards can be positive or negative in the relative sense, pending on what position the card turns up, as well as the intention of the querent, and also what the relationship is with other cards.
Are there any bad cards?
Ultimately no. If you want to play with a full deck, you
need to embrace all cards. Every card has a positive aspect to it, pending on
time and relationship with other cards. The opposite is true as well. Some
cards are more challenging for sure, but that is part of the adventure we call
life. Challenges add spice and strength.
Do you sugarcoat your readings?
I am a positive person, and so I see things in a positive
way. With that said, if there is something that you need to look at that might
not be pleasant, I will not hold that back. But I will say it in a way that can
best be received. Now, if it is at a party or a fair when we have only 5
minutes together, most clients want to be entertained, so we will not go deep.
How should I best prepare for a reading?
The clearer you are with your questions, your focus, the
clearer the reading. Come to a reading like a child in that you are open to any
ideas. And then afterward, look at the reading like an adult with discrimination.
Don’t follow blindly what I or anyone tells you to do.
Can I record our session or take notes?
Sure, if you want to. I will take a picture of the spread
and send it your way. I recommend not taking notes to stay out of your head so
you can be fully present. Afterward, write down what you remember in a journal.
In that way, you can relive it in a very inner way, remembering what you need
to and adding new insights from your inner knowing. It is also good to record any
dreams the night of the reading in your journal, as your subconscious will give
you more insights.
Should I be nervous?
I hope not. It is all about you. If you are, you probably
feel you are not perfect and that I will see through you. Guess what? No one is
perfect. I am not perfect. Our divine nature is; that is my focus. The temporal
you have lots of imperfections. Our divine nature does not judge those faults.
Life is an art form of becoming the fullest expression of who we are meant to
be in the arena of life.
Are these readings confidential?
Indeed they are. I am a minister and take our privacy as a
sacred trust. I may site the reading as an example without any possibility of
it becoming known that it was for you.
Do I have to pay upfront? What if I do not like
the reading?
Yes, you need to pay upfront. You are not really paying for
the reading; you are paying for my time so that I can take care of my
responsibilities, my family. Doing so helps keep the readings free from a need
to please you so that you will pay me. You do want the readings a truthful as
possible, yes?
How often can one do readings?
It all depends on you. You may want to see what lies ahead for
a certain period of time in a particular area. The only limitation I would put
on you would be returning continuously about the same issue, hoping for a
change in the outcome. The longer the relationship, the deeper we can go, the
clearer we can become.
Can I ask about other people?
Yes. And the cards will show you what you need to know
about them in regards to you. You are your only business.
When are you available for readings?
During the school year when I work for the Arts Council,
weekends and weeknights I am available. Vacations and summer most times. Just
email me the times you would like to have a session and then I will schedule
you and send you a Zoom link or we can meet at my studio in Carmel.
